Simply put

I do not gather your information to provide it to third-parties for any reason.

Who I am

This site is designed, written and maintained by me, Myriem Le Ferrand, for the professional services I provide. My website address is: https://calathus.org. This site includes links to https://appreciative-inquiry-mediation.solutions and https://myriem-le-ferrand.link

Scope of this policy

This policy presents the level of protection a private person engaged in professional services should provide to those they wish to serve.  In turn, if you work with me, you agree that I’ve provided a sound policy for my online presence.  If you have a concern, please let me know before we begin working together.  Thank you.

I am also the founder and developer of a nonprofit with the following websites: https://econ4peace.org and https://www.socialfieldwork.net  This privacy policy is not the privacy policy for the nonprofit. This privacy policy provides an opportunity for our Board of Directors to learn about data mining and its misuse, while crafting a secure policy for our work to protect our donors, volunteers, staff, partners, participants and beneficiaries.

If others are working with me in providing the professional services described on this website, they also agree to these same privacy principles and practices.

How I protect your data

In my online work, I remain vigilant in strong passwords, a VPN, encrypted communications and protected storage of your information online or in my possession. My websites have SSL certificates as evidenced by the “https://” in the URL.

I try to teach you about protecting your data on your browser. I offer coaching and workshops for this purpose. I can discuss this further with you and teach you about ways that you can also protect your information and no longer be part of the tracking ad services that plague the internet.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

Contact forms and booking

If you book an appointment or send me a message by email or through the contact form, I will have the information you provide me as well as your email address. If you’d like to receive newsletters from me, you will need to sign up for those. You can sign up by telling me you’d like to sign up or by submitting an email newsletter request through the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites may have settings that gather information. I am diligent to not work with such websites.

Please let me know if you are concerned about any content and I will research further to ensure do not track is a fundamental value of those that create and develop that other website. I will double check. I will try to keep this simple and minimize the use of other resources in my online presence.

As a general caution: Other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. You can set your browser to prevent or minimize this type of activity. I encourage you to do so or to contact me for an appointment to help you do so.

Analytics

I do not engage in analytics. I will not be checking logs to see who sees what. I don’t have time for that kind of monitoring, nor do I find it ethical.

Who I share your data with

I do not share your information with third parties for any reason. The web tools that I use are encrypted and do not gather your information.

My hosting provider is Greengeeks and they also adhere to strict privacy policies as do their servers. The internet is a wide relay of servers and each node could pick up information as well as hackers.

I do my best to be vigilant in securing the best services who hold my principles regarding privacy and protecting your information and my own.

How long I retain your data

I will keep your information for as long as I work with you, as long as you remain in my inner circle of acquaintances or friends, as long as you seem to be interested in what I am doing or would like to work with me, and for some time after that until I retire from this kind of work. At that time, I’ll communicate with you about picking up your files if you like. Or I could possibly transmit them to you. I may charge a fee for this service.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

I do not send your data out

Your contact information

I hold your contact information as precious and would share it with no one, unless you gave me explicit written permission to do so. I

I do not plan on letting anyone I know have access to my client base for any reason unless I see a value in furthering your good work or theirs. f someone would like to network with you or I think you might like to network with them, I will bring it up to both parties and get a verbal okay to share your contact information with each other. I do not plan on letting anyone I know have access to my client base for any reason unless I see a value in furthering your good work or theirs.

Session Cookies

I encourage you to use privacy tools on your web browser and set them at the strictest levels of protection. On the rare occasion that you cannot sign up for a service or access your bank account, you can whitelist those online sites. Those privacy tools on your browser sh

Additional information

At this time, I do not see any reason to share additional information. If we are working on a group project of any kind and they group makes a decision to move forward and I am the only one with a specific piece of information at that time, I will share that information in keeping with our mutually-agreed upon work activities.

I do not receive information from third parties.

What automated decision making and/or profiling I do with user data

I do not do automated decision-making or profiling. I find it reprehensible and silly for people to set up such systems. They should be banned. We need people making real decisions with real information and not facsimile.

Regulatory disclosure requirements

Through these websites, I provide professional services rather industrial products.  My professional services may involve government at all levels. I am required to provide reports regarding my financial activities to those parties and work with a CPA, tax preparer or accountant, as needed. If I were providing mediation services or doing a project for a community or organization, I would be bound by ethical requirements of confidentiality. I would not disclose any information unless someone was involved in causing bodily harm and I was concerned that a continued threat existed.

I may also provide you with accounting or web services, which are not my core services, but which may help you and also me with continuing income until I am able to rely solely on my “real work.” My “real work” is the work of the nonprofit and appreciative inquiry mediation solutions.

In any of my research activities, I follow customary confidentiality standards outlined in IRB-type frameworks. From wikipedia: An institutional review board (IRB), also known as an independent ethics committee (IEC), ethical review board (ERB), or research ethics board (REB), is a type of committee that applies research ethics by reviewing the methods proposed for research to ensure that they are ethical.

What data breach procedures we have in place

Because of the way I protect my online activities, you are also protected. The likelihood of a data breach is reduced significantly. I do not expect to be the target of hackers as a result. I do not foresee issues of data breach like those of 2012 LInkedIn data breach and the 2017 Cloudflare breach because my network is so much smaller and direct. There is no anonymity involved. In addition, I am vigilant when it comes to not working with third party tracking services. If you use any social media to engage me, that is an issue with them and not me. If your email services are not well protected, that is an issue with them and not me. And, so on.
